"Hi!  My name is Kathy, and I have chaired the annual Streator 4th of July lip sync contest ever since its inception back in 1990."   

We’ve come a long way baby!  The annual lip sync contest is co-sponsored by 99.3 WAJK.  It offers a chance for you to get involved and live out those “rock star” fantasies, even if you can’t sing at all (like me!)  While lots of contestants are in their teens and younger, we encourage any one to get involved.  There are three age divisions – 12 and under, 13-20, and family / mixed ages.  There will be some great prizes, courtesy of WAJK and participating sponsors, so grab your fiends, find a song and get practicing.  Contestants are scored in several categories: synchronization, interpretation/ impersonation, appearance, choreography, song selection and audience appeal.  The qualifying round will be Thursday, July 2nd, with the top three finishers moving on to the final round before the fireworks on July 4th at the Streator High School Athletic Field.

Preliminary Competition: Thursday, July 2nd at 6:30 p.m.

Finals:  Saturday, July 4th at 7:30 p.m.
